Clayton is from the 1989 model range, just snuck in as an 80’s baby. He was born in Canberra while his dad was an NRL player, but left at the age of 4 to grow up in his home town of Newcastle.
Following in the footsteps of his dad, Clayton played high levels of rugby league, in Newcastle Knights junior development, onto playing under 20’s for the Canberra Raiders and playing for South Logan Magpies in the Queensland Cup. Following this, he was picked up by Melbourne where he had representative honours playing for the state of Victoria and then his country Australia as fullback, travelling overseas playing Samoa for the World Cup.
Retiring from rugby league, Clayton still needed that competitiveness in his life. He was then introduced to CrossFit where he found he could still have the community vibe and support of a rugby team, in a CrossFit box environment. Clay has been a coach for the last year and has been competing for the last 2 years. He always has a smile on his face and wants to bring out the best in others as well as himself.
