Free Trial Class

Balaclava Fitness is more than simply a gym to work out at. It is a community who inspire and encourage each other every day. Join us for a free trial session with no obligation, no pressure and no judgements.

Our classes are for everybody. Every workout is totally scaleable and each individual can work to their own fitness level.

Fitness Class

These are our fundamental classes and consist of a combination of Olympic Lifting, Power Lifting and Strength components along with gymnastics, skills and drills, and incorporate a mix of High Intensity and longer duration cardio sessions. Every day brings something new, but our programs apply a 6 week structure to ensure everyone is progressing along the way. 

These classes are for everybody. Every workout is totally scaleable and each individual can work to their own fitness level.

Personal Training

If you are a relative beginner, haven’t exercised for a while, or have some injuries or concerns, contact us for a Personal Training session with one of our friendly and supportive Trainers.

We will create a personalised training plan to suit you and your goals and ensure we get results together, in an environment where you are comfortable, supported and empowered. Our sessions are ever changing and can incorporate a mix of Strength, Cardio, Mobility, Pilates and more.

Whether you want to lose weight, gain strength, rehabilitate or simply improve your mental health and quality of life, we have you covered. Our supportive and friendly trainers are vested in you and will encourage you to receive results, wherever you are in your fitness journey.

The intensity and types of exercises will be completely suitable and complementary to your body and fitness levels, ensuring you are safe whilst you progress.

Small Female Group Training

Our ladies small Group Fitness classes are the perfect way to get individualised programming within an intimate, semi private environment. These class are capped at 8, and you will be sure to receive an amazing workout each session. These 45 minute sessions will cover cardio, strength, mobility, HIIT, circuit work, stretching and more. Each participant will go at their own pace and every movement can be scaled so as nobody will be left behind.

Our supportive trainers will ensure you have fun and are challenged and empowered with like-minded women.

We know that everyone has different needs and goals and you will all be treated as such, whether you want regular check ins and measurements or just to come and feel great within yourself.

This non intimidating and friendly environment is great for beginners, those getting back into training after some time off, post natal and those just wanting to move and be healthy.

Pilates Mat Sessions

Our semi private Pilates mat classes are designed for all levels from beginners to those more experienced in Pilates. With small classes, you will be closely supervised and our trainer will be able to modify and work within your needs and goals, your body and any restrictions or pathologies you may have.

We start with the basics and add layers and progressions/regressions so as everyone has an amazing workout.
Pilates is beneficial for overall health and wellbeing, no matter your age or level of fitness. These classes will increase your strength, fitness, mobility, endurance, flexibility, posture and overall feeling of wellbeing.

Our focus is on correct alignment, strengthening your core and lengthening your body. The muscular control learnt in our pilates classes allow joints to be held in optimal position. When performed correctly, pilates will decrease pain, prevent and rehabilitate injury.

You will experience increased muscle strength and tone (particularly in your abdominals muscles, low back, hips and buttocks) reinforcing strong, mobile joints and improving muscle and joint elasticity. A major focus is on correct and improved stabilisation of your spine and pelvis which is so important in life outside of the gym in every day activites.

We often incorporate props and each workout will leave you feeling energised and most of all, you will enjoy increased body awareness, improved breathing patterns and fun challenging full body workouts.

Open Gym

If you haven’t made it to a class, make up the time at an Open Gym session. Work on your weaknesses, supplement your training routine and keep your strength and fitness goals on track.

Weightlifting Class

This class will take all participants through the complete technical progressions of the Snatch, Clean & Jerk, and all associated movements including Power Snatch, Power Clean, Power Jerk, Hang variations Squat and pulling progressions. You will receive specific feedback and critique from the coach on your technique and execution of these lifts.
